This article explains how to update the name servers for your domain. You’ll sometimes hear this called “delegating” your domain’s name servers.
Log in to your domain management account
When you register a domain through a registrar, you get the ability to set its name servers. Most reputable registrars give you a control panel to do this, as long as you have your domain login.

Update your name servers
To complete this step you need to be logged in to the administrative account for your domain.
Go to the domain management area and set the name servers to:
- ns1.tectalic.net
- ns2.tectalic.net
- ns3.tectalic.net
Once these are set, all domain name system (DNS) requests for your domain’s web and email traffic are managed by Tectalic’s DNS service.
Every registrar’s interface is a little different, but they all have a name server (or “nameserver” / “DNS”) setting on the domain. Search your registrar’s help centre for “change name servers” if you’re not sure where to find it.
Check your name servers
Changes can take a little time to propagate across the internet. Once they’ve had a chance to update, you can confirm the name servers are set correctly using any public DNS lookup tool — search for “DNS checker” or “nameserver lookup” and enter your domain.
